TheBelarusian society is going through troubled times because Russia hasa plan to carry on the military manoeuvers Western-2017 on theterritory of Belarus. Our analysis demonstrates that Moscow ispreparing the actions which can be threatening to the sovereignty ofBelarus and the neighbouring EU countries.

Theaggressive Putin’s politics against Ukraine and other Russia’sneighbouring states is accompanied by the information war on a bigscale against the Western and Eastern European countries. Almost thewhole territory of Belarus is covered by the anti-Western Putin’spropaganda transmitted from the Russian radio and TV.

TheLukashenka’s dictatorship is promoting the Putin’s disinformationpolicy in Belarus. The regime has eliminated the free Belarusianradio and TV long ago. The unique free Belarusian TV channel Belsatis situated in Poland and is transmitting from Warsaw. The radiostation Liberty – Free Europe in Belarusian language is situated inPrague (Czech Republic). Unfortunately the transmission of this radiochannel on the short waves has been cancelled this year. As a resultmany thousands of persons, residents of the Belarusian regions, don’thave the free information.

TheGovernment of Poland has decided to stop its participation in thefinancing of the Belarusian TV channel Belsat (supported by the EU)at the end of this year because of the financial difficulties. Itwill signify the cancellation of the Belarusian free TV at the verydecisive moment when the free information is extremely important forthe Belarusian society.

TheBelarusian free TV channel Belsat is covering a considerable part ofthe territory of Belarus. More than 10% of the population is watchingthis channel. Despite the repressions by the Lukashenka’s regimethe Belsat became more and more popular in Belarus.

Weappeal personally the high esteemed President of the United States ofAmerica Mr. Donald Trump, the high esteemed State Secretary of theUnited States Mr. Rex Tillerson, and the high esteemed Chairman ofthe European Commission of the European Union Mr. Jean-Claude Junckerto support the financing of the free Belarusian TV channel Belsat aswell as to restore the transmission on the short waves of the RadioLiberty – Free Europe in Belarusian language. We appeal you tosupport the Belarusian people.

Wewelcome the active role played by the U.S.A in the non-proliferationof the nuclear weapons. Belarus had voluntarily renounced its nuclearweapon and this fact had been fixated in the Budapest Memorandum1994. In accordance with this Memorandum the United States haveappointed themselves to be a guarantor of the sovereignty of Belarusif it would be in danger. This danger is threatening Belarus now. Wehope that the strong voice of America will ring and will influencethe situation in order to stop the aggression and eliminate thethreat to the peace in Europe.
